We’re looking for a proactive and organised Event Logistics Officer to join the Edinburgh Climate Festival team. This is your chance to play a key role in delivering a vibrant, community-driven event that celebrates sustainability, creativity, and climate action.
Project Overview:
The Edinburgh Climate Festival continues its legacy as a vibrant, community-led event dedicated to celebrating climate action and fostering environmental awareness. Established in 2016, the Festival operates as a collaborative effort among Edinburgh-based charities. It aims to unite local organisations, communities, and the public for a day of engaging, fun, and family-friendly activities.
Role Purpose:
As the Event Logistics Officer, your primary responsibility will be to facilitate the planning and execution of the 2026 Edinburgh Climate Festival. Working closely with staff members, you will contribute to the preparation and implementation of Festival project plans. We encourage your creativity to help ensure an inclusive and memorable Festival experience.
Team:
You will respond to the Event Coordinator, and work closely with the Event Officer, Communications Officer, Volunteer Coordinator as well as other ELREC and NKS staff and volunteers.
Location:
This is an in person role at Edinburgh & Lothians Regional Equality Council (ELREC) Office – 14 Forth St, Edinburgh EH1 3LH.
Role Description:
As the Edinburgh Climate Festival Event Logistics Officer, your responsibilities include:
- Supporting the festival’s working groups/ areas (Comms, Stalls, Activities, Logistics, Volunteer Coordination, etc.) to ensure the delivery of agreed actions as well as coordinating with suppliers, Council & venue.
- Attending meetings for volunteer recruitment and overseeing their induction.
- Collaborating with the Communications Circle and staff members to promote the event.
- Contributing to relevant event management documentation.
- Liaising with the Council, statutory agencies, and contractors.
- Monitoring deadlines and implementing event objectives.
- Resolving problems and addressing guest inquiries before and during the event.
- Supporting the planning and on-the-ground execution of the festival
- Ensuring all logistical elements are seamlessly organised
- Helping create a smooth, engaging experience for everyone involved
- Any other duties agreed upon by the core organising team.
