The City of Edinburgh Council is delighted to be working with Edinburgh and Lothians Regional Equality Council to support its aim of increasing diversity in the Education workforce.
This scheme aims to give volunteers an insight in how schools work as well as an opportunity to network and make contacts. This opportunity is suitable for anyone who is thinking of being a parent helper in a school, applying for a support staff post (non-teaching), coming into teaching as a profession or returning to teaching. Our aim is for volunteers to have increased confidence in knowing how schools work, applying for education jobs, applying for university places and having the option to add this experience of working in schools to enhance their application. We hope that everyone participating in this volunteering opportunity will have a positive and useful experience.
