Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS) have designed ‘The Help to Claim’ service specifically for people who need advice making the switch to Universal Credit (UC).
CAS can help to see if you are eligible for payments, provide step-by-step support to complete your Universal Credit claim, prepare for your first Job Centre appointment and check to make sure your first payment is correct.
Jonathan Boyd, Project Engagement Officer at CAS, got in touch a few months ago asking about language needs for communities, and him and his team have produced some excellent translated resources to ensure that this information is reaching all communities.
The Help to Claim Universal Credit service now has free, independent and confidential advice in whatever language a client would prefer using the Language Line service. Translated materials, in several languages, are also available.
