As the local election is fast approaching, we want to provide an opportunity to encourage communities of all protected characteristics to engage with senior politicians of major political parties to help them to develop their election manifestos.
This meeting will enable you to interact with the politicians to discuss their manifestos for election to The City of Edinburgh Council, scheduled to be held in May 2012, and what they can do to deliver equality and justice better in Edinburgh. We want you to help them to speak on key equality priorities.

Workshop: Getting involved in West Lothian public services (Dates to be confirmed)
The NHS in Lothian and West Lothian Council want to make sure that people have a chance to shape their local services. It is important that a wide range of people can get involved and have their say about how services should be run, including people from minority ethnic communities.
To help this happen, Edinburgh and Lothians Regional Equality Council (ELREC), West Lothian Council and NHS Lothian are working together to improve the way Black & Minority Ethnic people can make a difference to the public services. A two-day workshop is taking place in West Lothian and we want as many people as possible from minority ethnic communities to take part. Please see the link to the flyer for details, and circulate it as widely as possible. Interpreters are available for people who are not confident speakers of English.
